NON-PROFIT film: ESPERANZA HEALTH CENTERS
To mark the launch of its newest location on Chicago’s Southwest Side, Esperanza engaged ideafarm to create an evocative film that showcased the state-of-the-art center, its place in the Latino community, and its mission to serve Brighton Park residents in what was formerly a “medical desert.”
Esperanza, which means “hope,” provides bilingual, high-quality primary care, behavioral health and wellness services to the community, regardless of immigration status, insurance status, or ability to pay.
Esperanza Brighton Park opened in May 2019, and by the end of the year 10,000 patients had crossed its doorstep — well beyond Esperanza’s projections. Esperanza is ranked among the top 3% of health centers in the nation, and the top two in Illinois, by HRSA for its high quality of care.
The film, which showcases personal stories from the perspective of four caregivers at the new facility, will be premiered at Esperanza’s 2020 gala. Above is a clip from the opening of the film.
It was shot on a RED cinema camera using natural light, with ideafarm films handling every aspect of the project: staging, shooting, scripting, music and editing. Several high-res stills from the film are featured prominently in Esperanza Health Centers’ just-published 2019 year-end Annual Report.
